Read the daily quote from Pope Francis

To save others

“Had Jesus come down from the Cross, he would have given in to the temptations of the prince of this world. Instead, he cannot save himself precisely so as to be able to save others, precisely because he has given his life for us, for each one of us.” — Pope Francis

Reflection: It may seem strange to think about the Cross in these final days before Christmas. In reality, the mystery of the Incarnation — Jesus fully human and fully divine — is revealed most fully in Jesus’ passion, death, and resurrection. Do you celebrate Easter with the same intensity you celebrate Christmas? What do you do differently? How does this reflect the fullness of God’s saving gift of life?
